History of Oil

Robert Newman's documentary about 100-years of UK and US foreign policy in the middle east has been on Google Video for a while now and I still find myself coming back to it.

This isn't Michael Moore or Al Gore talking about the wrongs of the political right. This is an entertaining and thought provoking look at the economic and historical reasons behind war.

Highlights include: connection between Iraq and WWI, regime change in Iran, the significance of the Suez canal and British imperialism, Bush's 3 members of the "Axis of Evil", and humourous comments about such things as the world's "most famous spy" (who by definition must have been the worst at his job).

At 45 minutes, you may want to listen to it in the background while you work at your computer but if you have the time to focus on it alone I think you'll find it worthwhile.
